Pharmacy Technology
The Pharmacy Technology Program has been helping students to obtain national certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) since 1997. Every spring and fall semester the Pharmacy Technology Program accepts 40 students for the two-semester program. The Pharmacy Technology faculty has twice received the LSC-O Teaching Excellence Award. The director, faculty and staff are driven to see students succeed by achieving and maintaining certification as Certified Pharmacy Technicians (CPhT).

Pharmacy Technology (C) Certificate
This program consists of a sequence of courses designed to prepare students for employment as pharmacy technicians. Successful completers of this certificate program will be eligible to write the licensure examination that is mandated. The pharmacy technician functions under the direct supervision of the registered pharmacist. This program is competency based and will teach the appropriate skills, knowledge and perspectives needed to succeed within the pharmacy technology field. Students will be given the opportunity to attain competence in oral and written communication as well as math and computer skills specific to the workplace. The Pharmacy Technology Program holds full accreditation status from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
