Institutional Award
This Institutional Award is designed to prepare students to provide basic care for patients in hospitals and residents of long-term care facilities, such as nursing homes. Students will gain the skills to draw blood for tests, transfusions, research, or blood donations. Students will also learn to explain their work to patients and provide assistance when patients have adverse reactions after their blood is drawn. In addition, students will learn the various chemical, physical , and sensory properties of food: nutritional quality and food use and diet applications.
